Alumna Ms. Lovinia Chiu, the Founder and Chairman of Medialink Group—a leading Intellectual Property (IP) management company—has dedicated over 30 years to the media content distribution industry. Throughout her illustrious career, she has introduced numerous classic Japanese animations to Hong Kong audiences, including Pokémon, Fullmetal Alchemist, Nintama Rantaro, and Ultraman Tiga.
Reflecting on her time at Shue Yan College (now Hong Kong Shue Yan University), which she entered to join the Department of Business Administration after her Advanced Level examinations, Lovinia noted that she learnt the value of perseverance—a mindset she seamlessly integrated into her professional journey. Offering words of encouragement to the younger generation, she shared, "People often talk about achieving a work-life balance, but what matters most is taking accountability and executing your responsibilities to the highest standard."
Lovinia emphasised that her company consistently empowers young talents to achieve milestones they once thought impossible. She believes that when young individuals feel they are actively contributing, they become fully invested in their time and efforts, ultimately paving the way for their own success.
To express her profound gratitude and give back to her alma mater, Lovinia has generously donated HK$300,000 to establish the "Chiu Siu Yin Lovinia Scholarship". This initiative is designed to recognise and reward outstanding students from the Department of Business Administration and the Department of Journalism and Communication.
