Dr. Michael WU graduated from Shue Yan's Department of Business Administration in 1987 and has served as a member of the Board of Governors of Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) since August 2026. Alumnus Wu has served his alma mater for many years as a member of the HKSYU University Council and frequently returns to campus to share his career experience with students.
In an interview with Shue Yan Newsletter, he stated that "Benevolence" (仁) in the university motto "Cultivating virtues of benevolence; broadening horizon and knowledge" implies the presence of two or more people. The word "Benevolence" signifies establishing character and nurturing people—meaning doing things not for oneself, but truly for the community. He praised Shue Yan graduates for consistently upholding the spirit of the university's founders, Dr. Henry Hu Hung-lick and Dr. Chung Chi-yung, by serving society and bringing benefits to the public.
